A Journey
to Change the Game
A Letter from Paul Kerner
My Journey, My Mission
Dear Future Champions,
Golf has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. But my journey with the game wasn’t always smooth. In fact, it was filled with struggles, setbacks, and moments where I questioned if I even belonged.
Growing up, I didn’t have a private coach. My uncle was a PGA professional, and my grandfather was obsessed with the game, but they lived too far away to help me consistently. So I taught myself; grinding on the range, sneaking onto courses, watching YouTube videos, and figuring things out on my own. It was a slow, painful process, but I fell in love with the challenge.
By my senior year of high school, I had pushed myself to new heights, shooting a personal best of 66 just before heading to college. I was ready to compete, ready to grow. But when I got there, reality hit me hard. My college team had no real structure, and my coach had no background in golf. I went from shooting in the 60s to struggling just to break 100.
It was embarrassing.
I had worked so hard, only to see everything fall apart. But in that moment of failure, I made a decision; I wouldn’t give up. I rebuilt my swing, my confidence, and my mindset. I started creating my own training plans, analyzing my mistakes, and working harder than ever. Slowly, I climbed back. By my sophomore year, I was back in the 70s and competing again.
But then, life threw another curveball. COVID-19 shut everything down, and I lost my passion for the game.
For a while, I walked away from golf. I focused on working, traveling, and figuring out what I wanted to do with my life. I took jobs in golf operations, club fitting, and sales. I worked at one of the top resorts in the country. But none of it felt like my purpose.
That all changed when I got the opportunity to run a junior golf program. For the first time, I wasn’t just playing or working in golf; I was coaching. I was helping kids grow, improve, and believe in themselves. I saw firsthand what proper guidance and mentorship could do for young golfers. I saw kids go from beginners to champions—some of them without ever paying a dime, because we found a way to support them.
That experience sparked something in me.
I realized that the golf industry is broken. Too many kids get left behind because they don’t have access to the right coaching, the right resources, or the right mentorship. I knew there had to be a better way; a way to develop young golfers physically, mentally, and spiritually while creating opportunities for kids who wouldn’t normally have them.
That’s why I started New Age Golf.
This isn’t just another coaching business. This is a movement.
At New Age Golf, we do things differently. We don’t just teach the golf swing; we build golfers from the inside out. We use cutting-edge technology, elite coaching, and mentorship to develop players at every level. Whether you’re trying to break 100 or qualify for the U.S. Junior Amateur, we have a roadmap for you.
But it’s not just about making golfers better. It’s about making people better.
We believe in faith, discipline, hard work, and giving back. We believe that golf should be a tool for growth, not just a game. We believe in helping players live their best lives on and off the course.
If you’re ready to be coached, mentored, and challenged to reach your full potential, we’d love for you to be a part of the New Age Golf family.
This is bigger than golf; it’s a movement. And I can’t wait for you to be part of it.
See you on the course,
Paul Kerner
